Our manufactory

Every instrument is made by hands, not by belts.

BUDDENBOHM is not a factory. We build in small numbers, in our own workshop, with tools some of which are older than the brand itself. Bells are hammered by hand, slides individually fitted, every valve set by hand.

That takes longer. But it also means we can intervene at every stage — and that no instrument leaves our house that we have not played ourselves.

Modularity

An instrument that grows with you.

Our models are consistently modular. Interchangeable leadpipes, exchangeable bells and, on the trumpets, resonance rings: you change the character of the instrument without having to buy a new one.

A Buddenbohm therefore stays adaptable for years — to new repertoire, to a different orchestra, to an idea of sound that has moved on.

Owner and master brass instrument maker

Nils Buddenbohm

Nils Buddenbohm completed his training as a brass instrument maker at Gebr. Alexander in Mainz, before passing his master craftsman's examination in Ludwigsburg. He has worked independently in the making and repair of high-quality brass instruments since 2010. In 2016, he founded his own instrument brand, BUDDENBOHM. Since then he has developed and built trumpets, cornets and trombones that unite traditional craftsmanship with his own technical solutions and a clear tonal vision. The interplay of sound, function, ergonomics and personality is always at the heart of his work.
